Biography

John Hall, PhD, ABPP, is a clinical health psychologist with the Charlotte Clinic of the Salisbury Veterans Administration Health Care System’s Whole Health Chronic Pain Team in North Carolina in the US.  He is one of the Whole Health National Education Champions for Mental Health and a VISN6 Whole Health Network Wide Education Faculty for the Office of Patient Centered Care & Cultural Transformation (OPCC&CT).  He is a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Health Psychology, an approved consultant and Immediate Past President of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and a subject matter expert for both the Clinical Hypnosis and Guided Imagery rollouts of OPCC&CT.  He served as Salisbury’s inaugural LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator, as well as both Salisbury and Fayetteville’s LGBT Special Emphasis Program Managers.

Dr. Hall is an approved consultant in clinical hypnosis of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and is currently that organization's immediate past president and by-laws division chair.  He is the book review editor and serves on the editorial advisory board of the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis.  He helped create the US Department of Veterans Affairs national training for practitioners in clinical hypnosis and continues to lead classes regularly within the VA.  He is on the Board of the North Carolina Society of Clinical Hypnosis, where he is the education lead.  He presents nationally regularly on hypnosis and chronic pain, hypnosis with diverse populations including military veterans and LGBTQ+ people, and hypnosis and trauma.  He is the "zoom-wrangler" for the Hypnotic Idea Exchange.
